Custom Foot Orthotics

Orthotics are a great way to help with issues related to walking and alignment, including knee, foot, and lower back pain.  They can help to realign the bones in the foot and ankle, and take stress off other parts of the body, such as the back, neck, shoulders, and hips.  Custom foot orthotics evenly distribute your body weight to eliminate abnormal forces on your feet.  By supporting the natural arch, conditions such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, and hammer toes are minimized.

How Do Orthotics Work?

Custom foot orthotics are specially-made inserts that fit inside most shoes.  Dr. White uses Sole Supports orthotics, and she is trained to make casts of your feet in their highest natural arch position.   These affordable custom orthotics generally last for years, and they can be easily moved from one pair of shoes to another.

Orthotics can help anyone with discomfort relating to walking, or imbalances in the body that are known to cause related pain. A tremendous benefit of custom orthotics is that they can be worn on a daily basis and utilized during most activities.

While over-the-counter shoe inserts are available at most drugstores, they lack the custom-built precision of a prescription orthotic.  For some people, these ‘one-size-fits-all’ inserts can be helpful.  However, for those who already experience foot conditions or have a high natural arch, custom orthotics will provide the best support and long-term results.

Ask Dr. White to check your feet for pronation (loss of natural arch position) and whether you would benefit from the custom Sole Supports orthotics.
